Introduction to Visceral Technique for the Manual Practitioner
The goal of this class is to present concepts of how to address the visceral system in a manual practice. We will cover the embryology, anatomy, physiology of the visceral system. The student will learn how to palpate the area around the organs looking for motion dysfunction. Treatment will be specific to understanding that we are not treating an organ that is diseased, but an organ that has lost its normal mobility and how that plays out in the clinical setting. Somato-visceral, viscero-somatic and viscero-viscero patterns will be covered. Laboratory time will reflect concepts presented in lecture and treatment will be demonstrated.
